Maya Djafarova, BA, MA - Piano, Professor - Principal, Art Director of Academy

Maya Djafarova, founder of Alania Music and Director of World Academy of Music. She is an experienced classical piano teacher and performer from Moscow, Russia (Master's Degree, Professor, Class Piano) member of Ontario Registered Music Teacher Association. Maya has over 35 years of experience teaching Russian classic piano style with attention to composition, sound and hand techniques; specializing in 7- ARCT grades and university level. The majority of Maya's students, upon graduation, continued with their careers in music and many went on to major in music at the University level. Maya's students have always had the best performances at piano competitions and received the highest ratings at piano exams. The classes always had a special atmosphere of warmth and friendliness.

Oxana Samokhina, - M.M., B.M., Professor
Piano Performance and Music Theory

Oxana Samokhina is an experienced classical piano teacher and performer from
Russia (Master's Degree with First Honours, Professor, Class Piano).

Oxana has twelve years of experience working in music schools, colleges and conservatories with children, adolescents and adults. She has taught classes in piano performance, piano duet and concertmaster. She prepares students for participation in piano concerts, competitions and festivals, and has performed as an accompanist to a diversity of instrumentalists, singers and choirs. She easily connects with every student in order to interest and involve them to the full
extent in music creation. Oxana show great patience working with young childrens. Her warm personality, personal approach have produced outstanding results.

Oxana creates a positive atmosphere for learning, progress and fun for her students. She takes special care to each student's individual needs and goals.

Sergei Grinkov - Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Opera Singing
Vocal, Theory

Baritone Sergei Grinkov was born in Tallinn, Estonia . Upon graduating from Music Conservatory Named after G.Ots, he entered Estonian Academy of Music, where he studied for his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Opera Singing under Prof. Virgilius Noreika and Prof. Jaakko Ryhänen.

He participated in numerous competitions, both national and international: 2008- International Singers Competition in Bratislava (diploma and 2nd prize); 2006 International Competition of Chamber singing, “Amber Nightingale” in Russia (diploma); 2005- International Competition of Vocalists In Lithuania (diploma and special prize for the best performance of German Lied); 2003 - First Prize at Young Singers Competition in Estonia. Mr.Grinkov’s performances include: P.Tchaikovsky “Dame du Pique”, Prince Yeletsky and G. Puccini “ La Boheme”, Marcello (Bern Opera Studio Switzerland, 2009); D.Shostakovich “Antiformal Rayok” (Moscow Conservatory Hall, 2009); G. Verdi “La Traviata, Germont (Theatre Nicosia, Cyprus, 2008-2009); Dvorjak “Rusalka”, Hunter (Theater Erfurt, Germany, 2008); R.Leoncavallo “Pagliacci”, Silvio and G.Puccini “La Boheme”, Shaunard (Pforzheim Theater, Germany, 2007); G.Bizet “Carmen”, Morales (Estonian National Opera, 2006); G. Verdi “Traviata”, Germont , G. Puccini “Gianni Schicchi”, Gianni Schicchi, W.A. Mozart “Die Zauberflte”, Sprecher (all with Opera Studio of Estonian Academy of Music, 2005-07). Additionally he took part in different concerts and recitals in Germany, Poland, Sweden, Great Britain, Finland, Spain and Estonia.

Mr. Grinkov is an accomplished vocal teacher. He has had regular pedagogical practice in Europe starting 2007. He teaches professional singers and students of all levels in Belcanto technique. Sergei speaks English, Russian, Estonian, Deutsch and Finnish languages.

 

Rufat - Violin

Dr. Rufat Amiraliev - D.M.A., M.M., B.M., Professor
Violin, Viola Performer and Instructor

Dr. Amiraliev an established performer, conductor and teacher. He began studying violin at the age of five. He studied violin at the State University in Azerbaijan where he complited his Masters Degree and PhD studies. Rufat continued his studies at the International Chamber Music in Germany and Rigents College studying with teachers Walter Rademacher, Tomas Grossenbacher, Norbert Brainin and Martin Lovett.

Dr Amiraliev is the 1st Violin and Viola at Canadian Chamber Academy, 1st Violin at Ontario Philharmonic, 1-st Violin,Concertmaster South Simcoe Opera House Orchestra and Sinfonia Toronto Chamber Orchestra.

Rufat is a gifted and dedicated teacher who has years of experience preparing students for exams and competitions.

Anna Udina is experienced early childhood music education. Anna specialising in music lessons for your young children from age 3 to 7, private piano lessons and group keyboard lessons. Her classes are fun-filled and full of activity to keep the interest of young students.

Kui Piano

Dr. Kui Min - D.M.A., M.M., B.M., Professor
Piano Performance, Music Theory and Piano Pedagogy

Dr. Min, a highly praised performer, teacher and scholar is a recipient of the first prize in the First China International Piano Competition Southwest Division, Outstanding Performance Certificate in the Dorothy A. Anderson International Piano Competition, the winner of Concerto Competitions at the Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Notre Dame, and recently the winner of Beethoven Competition at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Music. Dr. Min has been heard in may concert halls in Canada, USA, Japan and China.

Dr. Min has toured with The Canadian Consort let by Maestro Chosei Komatsu, representing Canadian government, performing in 14 cities in Japan including solo performance for The Imperial House of Japan. With over 18 years of success in teaching piano Dr. Min has developed an innovative pedagogy that combines Eastern and Western schools.
